semi-charmed summer 2014 book challenge: my picks

after reading about this challenge on esther's blog, i decided to throw my hat into the ring for this reading challenge. it has always been a goal of mine to read at least 2-3 books per month, and with my cruise coming up, i think i will have lots of time to read!
the goal is to get to 200 points by august 31, 2014.

5 points: Love and Longing in Bombay, 268 pages [freebie! any book 200 pages or longer]
10 points: Ordinary People by Judith Guest, 263 pages [a book written before your birth]
10 points: The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien, 246 pages [finish a book you started]
10 points: Starring Sally J. Freedman as Herself by Judy Blume, 296 pages [children's book]
15 points: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, 552 pages [a NYT bestseller - #2 in YA books]

 The Dante Club by Matthew Pearl (set in Boston), 367 pages [a historical fiction]
15 points: Must wait until June 1 [a book another blogger has chosen]
20 points: The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards, 401 pages [a book with "daughter" in the title]
20 points: This is Where I Leave You by Jonathan Tropper, 352 pages [a book being made into a 2014 film]
25 points: Let's Pretend this Never Happened: A Mostly True Memoir by Jenny Lawson, 336 pages [a book by a blogger]
