summer lovin' #3 | uchi houston

the past week has been a complete whirlwind, and i am so happy to get back to some sort of order, even if it's just a blog editorial calendar!

my summer lovin' moment really SHOULD be a picture of the look of the relief washing over my face after my move was finally complete. instead, i am going to focus in on an amazing dining experience i had with one of my best work friends at uchi in houston. we went two nights before i was fused to my car seat for 22 hours on the drive from texas to maryland, and it was honestly one of the best things i could have done before leaving.

the food at uchi is amazing, but our favorites were this little guy, a ridiculously refreshing intermezzo that tasted JUST like a fresh bell pepper...
 

 

... the ham and eggs rolls with pork belly and egg custard, and the karaage: an amazing tempura chicken.

sweet baby jesus: thank you for letting me experience the best meal of my life in houston, and i am so ridiculously happy i got to spend it with erika. she is an aspiring chef who is finally leaving her job and hometown to head to new york to pursue her dreams of working in a gourmet restaurant! both her and the food = inspiring.
